Here's a different kind of alcoholism quiz. Just answer True or False to these questions to know if alcoholism recovery is for you. What have you got to lose. . . or gain??

I would be happy to never, ever wake up with a hangover again.

It would be nice to never have to hide or sneak behind anyone's back again.

True or False:
I would love to be able to go anywhere and do anything in the world and know that I wouldn't spoil things by my drinking.
So how did you do on the alcoholism quiz?? Let me guess. You answered TRUE on every question - or just about every question. If you didn't, I'd say you're not really ready for a sober life.
Here's another alcoholism quiz question:
What is your unique situation? How would your life be different if you never had to take another drink of alcohol? Just imagine for a moment that you are well into your recovery. Those difficult first thirty, sixty, ninety days are behind you, and you are on your way to a new life in recovery. Dream a bit . . . |
What would your new life be like?
Think for a moment about your family, your spouse, your kids, your finances, your home, your career, your hobbies, your friends. How would it change for the better?
What would you do? Would you travel? Would you excel in your career or change careers all together?
Anything is possible.
End of alcoholism quiz . . . Now for a touch of humor. You know that corny poem, Footprints in the Sand?
Here's another version:
One night I had a wondrous dream.
A set of prints in the sand was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord.
Yet mine were not along the shore.
But then a stranger's print appeared.
I asked the Lord, "What have we here?
This print is large and round and neat,
But, Lord, it's just too large for feet."
"My child," He said in somber tone,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to seek My face,
Take up your cross and walk in grace."
"You disobeyed, you would not grow.
You would not stand against the flow.
Your neck was stiff, your ears were shut,
So there I dropped you on your butt."
"Because in life there comes a time,
When one must reach and one must climb,
When one must rise and one must stand,
Or leave one's buttprints in the sand."
Do you sometimes feel like you've been dropped? Ker-plunk, right in the sand!
Maybe this whole alcoholism thing happened for a reason. Maybe sitting on your butt in the sand is the best possible place for you to be, because now you can begin your life again.
God may be asking, "CAN WE START NOW? Are you through??"
If you feel like you just can't get up, guess what? You can. You really can have a new life in recovery from alcoholism. If I, a hopeless, helpless drunk, can do it, so can you!
Still not convinced that you have a problem with alcohol? Maybe you don't! (Wouldn't that be good news!) Take another type of Alcoholism Quiz and see how you do.
And here's yet another Alcoholism Test: Twelve questions that Alcoholics Anonymous uses to help you along in your "self-diagnosis".
